My name is Jamie and my husband and I live in St. Paul with our amazing daughter and two rescue kitties. Prior to entering the birth world I attended DePaul University and then University of Minnesota majoring in gender studies and non-profit management. Soon after, I went on to complete culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu specializing in pastry and baking. My interest in the birth world was sparked after a dear friend had a home birth. I was completely enamored with the birth world. Not long after her baby was born I found out I was pregnant. I put my doula desires on hold to focus on my own pregnancy and birth. I received my doula training and placenta preparation training through a DONA International Training course via Blooma in St. Paul, MN. When I am not spending my time serving the birth world you can find me working in our garden, getting lost in nature with my beautiful family, dancing to a variety of live music, with my nose in a good book, or whipping up some tasty creations in my kitchen.
As a doula and a mother I understand that the journey of pregnancy and birth is unique to every family and unique to each individual. My aim is to provide gentle, nurturing, and judgment-free support to meet each family’s and individual’s specific needs and desires throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. I am honored to support each person and their family regardless of their birth preferences-be it natural or medicated, vaginal or cesarean, a birth at a hospital, a birth at a free standing birth center, or a birth in the comforts of your home.
Birth can at times be a bit unpredictable, even the most diligent efforts to prepare and plan can be subverted. As your doula, I will do my best to support you to ensure that you and your choices are empowered, honored, and respected.
Birth is a sacred and transformational experience and I would be honored to be a part of your journey.
